Learn About The History of Organized Crime

history of organized crimeOrganized crime is something that people are fascinated with. Yes, there are a lot of negative and immoral things about it, and those parts should not be glorified. However, there are also some positive aspects of it that people are not aware of. In some cases, organized crime benefited the poor neighborhoods where it was occurring. Although most of the profits made by the gangsters were being spent on themselves, plenty of money was given to local business owners who were loyal merchants.

If you are interested in learning about the history of organized crime then I have a couple of websites that you should check out. The first one is located at www.gangrule.com and it is loaded with information and photographs. Another website, which I think is a great source of information for just about anything, is www.wikipedia.org.

Motion pictures about organized crime are certainly entertaining, but I would not necessarily believe EVERYTHING that you see in a movie. If you really want to learn, I suggest that you visit your library and check out some books on gangsters like Al Capone, John Gotti and Lucky Luciano. Also, for some more interesting reading you should check out Sammy the Bull.
